If you have been working out, you will know how good it feels to be fitter and stronger than you were last week. But now and then, challenging yourself helps you become more motivated to continue your quest in being the best version of yourself.
Cidade de Goa is taking the first step to help you get there with its exciting Clube Saude Fitness Challenge. It does not matter what your goal is – weight loss, weight gain, general fitness, toning or body-building, you can participate and find out where you stand in Cidade de Goa’s search for the fittest person.
Clube Saude has divided participation into three categories – those weighing up to 60 kgs, those from 61 kgs to 70 kgs, and those weighing 71 kgs and more. It is open to all members and winners will be decided through a fair and unbiased decision by management. Instructors will record your performance in each of the tasks and this will be tabulated for the management’s final selection.
If you are up for the challenge, you will have to attempt all the tasks in the competition. It kicks off with a series of endurance tests that give you a total of 60 seconds for each activity. The total number of repetitions are counted by the instructors. There will be push-ups, skipping, pull ups, burpees, crunches, mountain climbers, inch worms, sit ups and spot lunges. The last activity in this series is the dreaded plank, in which you will have to hold yourself in position for as long as you can.
The next section of the challenge is a cardio test. Each participant will have five minutes to run on the treadmill and the maximum distance covered will be noted. So run like the hills are on fire!
Finally, comes weightlifting. You will have three chances to lift the maximum weight you can. The heaviest weight you lift in each of the three exercises – squats, bench press and deadlift – will be recorded. You must complete all three weightlifting activities on the same day. To make things tougher, you will be allowed a maximum of five minutes’ break between the activities.
